Workers are trade-tested in the Philippines before they travel

Skilled trades are tested at third-party trade-testing centres accredited by TESDA, the Philippine skills authority, that work with E-GMP. Tell E-GMP what the test has to prove:

A welder joining steel pipe on a construction site

The work

The tasks, materials and equipment, such as pipe fitting on carbon steel or CNC lathe set-up.

The certificates

Any certificate or licence the role needs, such as a 6G welding certificate. E-GMP shortlists candidates who hold it.

Your own check

You interview the shortlist, remotely or in person, and can set your own practical test before anyone is selected.

Saudi Arabia’s Professional Accreditation Program also applies to expatriate workers in many occupations. For occupations covered by Professional Examination, workers are assessed through theoretical and practical tests. Send the occupation on your visa, and E-GMP will confirm what applies before deployment. For accreditation, documents, timelines and costs, see employer resources.

Questions from employers hiring trades

Can E-GMP supply one or two tradespeople, not a full crew?

Yes. E-GMP takes orders for one or two workers in a trade as well as for full site crews. Steel factories in Saudi Arabia have taken a single worker through E-GMP. Send the trade, the headcount and the start date.

Can a manpower company order construction workers through E-GMP?

Yes. A manpower company that holds the contract with its own client places the order, and E-GMP recruits, documents and deploys the Filipino workers under its Philippine licence. E-GMP has deployed workers through Emdad Human Resources, a Saudi manpower company, whose orders include fleet electricians and fleet mechanics.

How long does it take to recruit tradespeople from the Philippines?

E-GMP’s standard is 30 to 90 days from job order to deployment. Trade testing and any skills test your country requires add to that, and skilled roles can take longer. E-GMP gives you a range once it sees the trades and the destination.
